JENNIFER DRESSMAN INTERVIEW
TiPS magazine has just published an interesting interview with Jennifer Dressman, Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Professor Dressman’s research has focussed on predicting the in vivo performance of drugs and dosage forms after oral administration. She is particularly well known for pioneering the use of biorelevant dissolution testing. In the interview, Jenny discusses her career; what inspired her to become a scientist in the first place, how she was drawn to the study of pharmacokinetics and drug solubility specifically and her involvement with both the World Health Organization (WHO) and Oral Biopharmaceutical Tools project (OrBiTo). Professor Dressman also explains her role in helping Biorelevant Media to become indispensable tools for the Pharmaceutical industry, enabling R&D teams to determine whether drugs will have solubility limitations to oral absorption and to screen for food effects.
